This homeowner wanted to improve the look of the backyard without investing a lot of money. We recommended a few new updates to the garden and a fresh coat of paint to update a rundown garden shed. Here is the before picture:
We assisted the owner by offering advice (and our discount) on the proper paint selection and technique to complete the task themselves. We were unsure of what type of paint was originally used on the shed. Given it’s age, it was likely oil-based and so we provided the homeowners with a recommendation for a primer that would help make sure the paint didn’t peel off. That was step one.
Through our colour consultation, we went with these Benjamin Moore shades of green.
I love these colours for a summer home sale like this because the shed blends into the colour of the backyard greenery, making it less of an eyesore. We added a few DIY Shutters and a window box to pretty it up even more.
For a little over $150 and a little elbow grease, the new homeowner was able to complete this task themselves. Prospective buyers will no longer worry about the cost of repairing it or tearing it down.
